We’re pushing towards Baltimore, Maryland for the CIAA Basketball Tournament February 22-26 in Royal Farms Arena.

With March Madness soon upon us, conference play heats up as teams are looking to earn a shot at the Big Dance in March.

Virginia Union (12-4 overall, 5-1 CIAA, 1-1 Northern Division) and Lincoln (12-5 overall, 5-1 CIAA, Northern Division) are in a race for the third and fourth spots in the North. Both Bowie State and Shaw University are 2-0 in division play, so they have the upper hand at the moment.

Bowie State visits Shaw Saturday afternoon in a crucial division matchup that will decide the Northern Division’s top team. Lincoln and Virginia Union will also meet Saturday afternoon, so by the day’s end, we’ll have a better picture of the Northern Division. Elizabeth City State (3-5 overall) and Virginia State (2-5 overall) are 0-2 in the North. The two teams were set to play Saturday, but that game has been postponed.
